Linux Passion Reborn

In the year 2008, my life would be blessed by another friend named Marcus Orlando Newton who helped me renew my passion for Linux. For a few years after I was initially introduced to Linux, I was pretty much on my own when it come to learn about the OS. Through Marcus I would learn about Compiz Fusion, which at the time was yet another aspect of Linux that I never knew about. Imagine this now, In 1994 I learn about Linux for the first time, and about 14 years later, this operating system evolves so much, that it can now provide it's users with an amazing 3D Desktop environment. Talk about productivity. How many projects could a person work on, when he has more than one desktop at his disposal?

When it comes to my experience with exposure to Linux, my second exposure to Linux was enhanced as it brought me in contact with the following concepts and technologies:

  • Open Source
  • Linux Kernel
  • Virtualization
  • Window Managers
  • VirtualBox
  • Synaptic
  • GIMP
  • Google Chrome
  • Google Chrome OS
  • Gmail
As you can well imagine this list could go on an on. In summary I just want to testify about how it is such a blessing to have people in your live who are willing to share their knowledge. Words can not express how much I appreciate the time that Marcus invested, to help me experience Compiz Fusion for the first time. I had seen a bunch of videos on it through YouTube, yet I did not know exactly how to set it up. Since my friend set it up for me, my Linux experience once again would "never be the same."
